OUR JOURNEY
Rethinking how buildings are finished
Altarize is a Bali-based social enterprise dedicated to human-focused, sustainable material innovation for tropical architecture.
WHO WE ARE AT ALTARIZE
Guided by nature, built for people
Altarize is a social enterprise rethinking finishing materials for a healthier built environment, blending research, craftsmanship, and care in everything we make.
Tobi Klanner
Founder
Altarize is a Bali-based material innovation studio creating breathable, non-toxic finishes for tropical living and building.
We develop lime- and clay-based plasters, renders, and paints using locally sourced minerals, upcycled glass, and natural fibers — reducing construction’s environmental impact without compromising on beauty or performance.
Altarize began with a simple observation: conventional construction materials were failing both people and the planet in tropical climates.
Our focus on material research and local craftsmanship has enabled us to work with private homes, boutique hotels, and large-scale developments across Bali and Thailand.

Insulcote made a real difference in comfort. The rooms feel cooler during the day and quieter overall, and the base coat stayed stable with no cracking issues. A smart system for tropical builds.

Altarize completely transformed our finishing process. The application was smooth, the color has stayed vibrant even under direct sunlight, and there's zero peeling months later. Worth every penny for a tropical home.
Budi Santoso

We used Altarize for our villa renovation and the results exceeded expectations. The texture feels premium, it was easy to apply, and most importantly — no cracking or flaking after months of use. Highly recommend for quality builds.
